What to Expect

I am a natural light, on-location, custom photographer. I shoot outdoors at a location that you and I have chosen based on what type of pictures you desire. This could mean big open spaces with trees and fields, enjoying one of San Diego's beaches, exploring a downtown area, or enjoying the comfort of your own home. For the most flattering light, sessions take place either in the early morning or about 1-2 hours before sunset, depending on the location.

What should you wear?

This is huge. Your clothing should be comfortable and reflect who you are. Solids or simple patterns work best because they won't distract from your face. For family portraits you don't need to match each other exactly, but it helps if the outfits compliment each other and are within the same color group. And shoes play a big role in your pictures too. Strong patterns, harsh colors, logos, words, and pictures on clothing are not advisable. No watches please. I want the focus to be on YOU.

Your big day!

I want this to be a fun and memorable experience for everyone. I believe kids should be who they are, kids. I let them run, jump, play, and I'll be there to capture their smiling faces. We'll get family shots, some with just mom and dad, some with just kids, etc. Most of all, I want this to be fun and relaxed!

Newborn Sessions

The best time for a newborn session is when baby is 5-10 days old (for the sleeping baby shots). This can take place in my natural light home studio, or in your home as long as there is enough light (big windows/sliding glass door). I love to capture all of the sweet newborn details and the love from mom and dad. Newborn sessions take a bit longer (2-3 hours). We'll take our time to make sure baby is happy and cozy.

*Maternity sessions should take place when you're 32-36 weeks along. I am generally booked about 1-2 months in advance, so please don't hesitate to contact me early! Also, please contact me a few months before baby is born to schedule a tentative newborn session based on your due date.

What happens after the session?

After the session, I will review all of the photos and select the best ones to edit. An average session will produce at least 20-30 edited pictures. Within one to two weeks, you will be able to review your photos on an online gallery. Packages start at $200 and include a full-resolution CD with a print release.

I maintain ownership of all images and reserve the right to use any and all images for my own business use, which includes but is not limited to my website, business cards, advertising, etc.
